DAY 4 — WEIGHT ON THE SHOULDERS, EYES ON THE HORIZON

Kia ora whānau — Jamie here.

Today the vest went on again.
Sitting tight across the chest, pulling the breath downward, grounding me in the weight — not just physical, but mental.

Ruck day.
Simple mission: 30–40 minutes on foot, vest loaded, head up.
Move forward. Breathe slow. Watch the terrain.

And you know what hit me?
This vest isn’t just training weight. It’s a reminder.

We all carry something.
Fear. Regret. Responsibility.
And when the pressure comes, only two things matter: posture and breath.

I kept my spine tall. Let my arms swing. Rolled through each footstep.
Not just walking — moving with intent.
Imagining what it would feel like if this wasn’t training… but reality.
No cars. No power. Just your legs and your lungs to get you where you need to go.

Halfway through, I added intermittent carries. Picked up two DBs and walked until the grip gave out. Then back to just the vest.
It's not just strength — it's durability I’m building.

This isn’t for the gym. This is for the long road home when everything falls apart.

Today tested my patience.
Nothing flashy. No fast reps. Just weight and time and silence.
But that’s the work that matters. The work that prepares.

So if you’re reading this — and still just watching from the sidelines — I’ve got one thing to say:

Put your own vest on.
Pick up the weight.
And start walking.

See you on Day 5.

— Jamie
